When Will My Item Arrive?

Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3–5 business days. If your item or order is large, it may ship via one of our third-party freight carriers, which deliver from semi trucks with lift gates. Freight delivery is much more complicated than standard parcel shipping — you must schedule a drop-off time, be present for the delivery, and move items from the curb to your residence, among other differences. Sound stressful? If you prepare in advance with ourguide to freight delivery, it doesn’t have to be.

We strongly encourage reading the entire freight delivery guide, but here’s aquick snapshot of what you need to be ready for when you order a large package:
  • Your freight carrier will call you to schedule a delivery window of about 4–8 hours
  • You’re required to be physically present at the specified delivery location during the scheduled window
  • Freight shipments are carried in semi trucks, which have lift gates to assist with unloading
  • Freight deliveries are dropped off at the curb and no further — not up the driveway, not the porch, not the garage, and most definitely not the backyard — so it’s on you to transport packages to their intended locatio
  • For an easier time hauling items to your home or backyard, arrange for at least 2 helpers to be on standby during your delivery window
  • You must sign for the shipment to indicate that you’ve accepted the delivery

Again, we recommend reading our entire breakdown of freight delivery so you can become familiar with the process. Trust us when we say that getting caught off guard with the strict requirements of freight delivery can lead to a whole lot of headaches.

Paddle boards, boats, kayaks, etc. can present unique storage situations. This is where the Tech Team #749 Overhead Rack System, which stores 2 units, can be a huge benefit. The Tech Team #749 Overhead Storage Rack is designed to securely support 2 paddleboards, SUP’s, surfboards, or kayaks overhead in a typical residential garage venue. The rack system can support 250 lbs. evenly distributed. However, the weight bearing capacity of the system to a great degree is a function of what it is mounted to and how well it is mounted. For example, should you try to mount the system to dry wall using dry wall anchors and/or toggles, you could expect a very unhappy situation to develop, as whatever you put on the rack will end up on the floor or possibly on top of your vehicles. It is important to pay close attention to correct preparation and installation of the rack. Ceiling beams, joists, or rafters in a typical residential garage can be expected to be made from 2 x 6, 2 x 8, 2 x 10, or 2 x 12 lumber. What this means in practice is that the actual width of the beam or joist is 1 ½” (the 2” is nominal). This alone will not give you enough purchase to support an overhead racking system. What you need to do is securely anchor a 2 x 6 or 2 x 8 mounting board across at least 3, but preferably 4 of the ceiling rafters. The piece of lumber will be 90° to the ceiling beams. Preferably you would use an 8’ or 10’ length, anchoring it with 3-4 #8 x 3” screws at each ceiling beam intersection. In other words, using between 12-16 screws total. This will provide a solid strong base for anchoring the rack and the ability to set the spacing between the racks at any distance you choose. If your ceiling beams run in the opposite direction, then the correct solution is to mount 2 2 x 6 or 2 x 8’s across 2 of the rafters, once again using 3-4 #8 x 3” screws at each connection point at distances that make sense for the spacing of your brackets.
